Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Chapter 48-1 is a non-profit, 501(c)19, organization of combat Veterans who have a passion for motorcycles and live the motto of “Vets helping Vets”. Our chapter is dedicated to ending Veteran suicide. We do this by: responding to Veterans in crisis and provide one on one advice, assistance and if needed, trained suicide intervention, we visit hospitalized, disabled and invalid Veterans. Through events (parades, speeches, tournaments, motorcycle rallies) and individual conversations, we educate the public on the Veteran suicide crisis. Time permitting, we inform them of the risk indicators, proper response, and available resources. Currently, we are assisting the Haven for Heroes in Anoka to rebuild and rehabilitate early 1900s hospital buildings for Veterans in 'transition'.
